Children’s Theatre!
Since I was fifteen years old, I have loved working with children. Children always challenge and show me how wonderful and energetic the world can be.
Bringing Theatre for Young Audiences on tour has been some of my favorite highlights from college. Splitting Hares, a brand new play about archetypes, has helped me engage with children on an even greater scale. The opportunity to use clowning, dance, and improvisation in a theatre production has helped me grow as a diverse and problem-solving performer. As an original deviser during the workshop period of the play, watching the show progress into a full fledged production has been a genuine honor.
Through talk backs, “meet and greets”, and personalized interactions, I have truly tried to use this experience as a lens to inspire future artists. One of my favorite memories was being told, “I want to do this when I grow up” by an eight year old audience member.
As a future Teaching Assistant for the Children’s Theatre course at Montclair State University, I hope to help guide my peers onto developing another project as special as this one for future tours. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work within Children’s Theatre and everything it has taught me.
As Splitting Hares says, “You don’t have to live up to the expectations people put on you. You only have to be who you are.”

BLUEY x CAMP Philly
Working in TYA in Philly was pure magic.
This contract was the first Immersive Theatrical Production I have ever been hired to do! Unlike traditional theatrical contracts, this immersive production brought the audience through the Heeler’s home. The home itself was built specifically for the production and has been toured across the United States through CAMP locations!
Furthermore, everyone learned every track in the production! Through hard work, confidence, and a lot of reliance on improvisational skills with my cast mates, we made this immersive production personal to each child.
Something amazing this contract showed me was how TYA and Immersive Theatre is an accessible experience for everyone. Immersive theatre has the ability to adapt and change in a much easier way than traditional theatrical productions, potentially letting more people positively experience entertainment.
In the future, I hope to work within the world of immersive and site-specific performance theatre again. There is something incredible about guiding an audience through a space by use of entertainment and acting.
Thank you Bluey for bringing this amazing experience into my life.
Tell Muffin I say hello.
I was beyond honored to get this note on my first day of work. As an actor and person who loves working with children, it is my goal to make sure every child enjoys the experience they go on with me! Art should help students and children feel welcome. Knowing I was able to help a family on my FIRST day was a beautifully unexpected gift.

THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD
THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD
The Hundred Acre Wood was an incredible adventure to take on. Each week, a brand-new 45 minute TYA show was created for children within the Catskills region. In a devised theatre style, creating brand new works of Children’s Theatre was a blast!
